Bat Surveys

JKI Environmental Ltd offers Bat surveys including Preliminary Roost Assessment (RPA), Emergence Surveys, Bat Activity Surveys, Lesser Horseshoe Bats that are often needed in Request for Information.

Bats are legally protected under the EU Habitats Directive, the Wildlife Acts (1976–2018), and are a key consideration in the planning process. If you're undertaking works that could affect trees, buildings, or habitats used by bats, a survey is often required by planning authorities or statutory bodies such as the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).

Common triggers for a bat survey include, renovation, demolition, or reroofing of buildings, tree felling or woodland management, bridge works or lighting schemes, wind energy and infrastructure projects, planning applications near roosting or foraging habitats.
